Morocco, quite open to international culture and way of life, is predominantly a Muslim country with a fairly large minority of Jewish Community. Morocco, ruled since 1999 by King Mohamed VI, the twenty-third monarch of the Alaouite dynasty, is a constitutional monarchy with two legislative houses. It spans an area of 710,850 km² (274,460 sq mi) with a population of roughly 37 million inhabitants. The economy of the country is based on agriculture, mining, industry (renewable energy, automotive, aeronautics, electronics and textile) with an important services sector (tourism, telecoms…).
Morocco’s official languages are Arabic and Amazigh whilst French, Spanish and the Moroccan dialect of Arabic referred to as Darija are also widely spoken. Younger people are fluent in English.
At the crossroads of Africa, Europe & the Mediterranean, the Moroccan identity and culture is a mix of Arab, Berber, African and European cultures, making this land a true melting pot of civilizations.
Its capital city is Rabat whilst its largest city is Casablanca
